Weather Journal
We looked at the weather outside and continued our weather journal. Some of the items we included were;

-
Date
-
Type of Weather
-
Clouds I see
-
Temperature
-
What I can do for this weather

We will be recording the weather all week and seeing if we can make a prediction about the weather.

Experiment
Today we finished our walking rainbow and compared our hypotheses to the final results. To try this experiment at home you can click here: https://funlearningforkids.com/rainbow-walking-water-science-experiment-kids/

We watched the video below about the Chromatography to further explore how the water could travel. The explanation of the experiment starts around 1:15

Endangered Animals
Today was national endangered animal awareness day. We looked at different endangered animals, along with animals specifically in Canada.

After looking at these animals we took a trip to the Granby Zoo in Montreal, where the 3/4 S class from quad 1 and 2 had chosen to adopt a snow leopard. The following information is in French, but during class we read it in English. There is a certificate that can be printed so students can have a memory of their adoption.

Club for the Future
Today we learned about an initiative where students can send postcards to space. We started working together as a class to compose a message to send on a postcard to space. Students were asked to draw a picture that reflected one of these three questions:

1) Sketch a prototype for a new technology that could be used to meet the needs of millions of people living and working in space
2) Create an advertisement to attract customers to your new space-related business. This can be a billboard, magazine cover, brochure, social media ad, or other advertising medium of your choosing.
3)Write or draw your vision on a postcard for what you think the future of life in space will look like—or any other message you’d like to send to space.

Once finished students can send me their photo on EDSBY and I will compose a collage of all of our pictures.

I hope you enjoy these activities and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
