Forces of Flight
Today we looked at two special wonders requested by students. After that we looked at the forces of flight and ended with a fun experiment.

Wonderopolis
This week student had lots of questions about what we learned. Two wonders that we focused on for this week is how was fire discovered and made. The other wonder is why is Pluto not a planet. Both wonders are below and I hope you read them. They are very interesting.

Forces of Flight
Today we looked at the four forces of flight. The four forces are thrust, drag, lift, and weight. We discussed things we knew that could fly. We also learned that a space capsule only uses thrust and weight because they are only going forward and being pulled down from a gravity free environment.

Experiment
After learning about the forces of flight we experimented by folding our own paper airplanes. We built one called the dart. It is designed for distance. We looked at what would happen if we bent parts of the wing or threw the plane different ways.

Forces Video
Here is a bonus video to help reinforce what we learned about the forces of flight.

I hope you enjoy these activities and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
