Health-Fire Safety
Today we got started talking about fire safety. We discussed what we already knew and what we wanted to know. We finished by starting to talk about fire safety plans and how we can create our own.

Fire Safety
Today we did some health by looking at fire safety. We started by answering two questions. They were;

What do we know?

What do we want to know?

Some of the things we already knew were:
-
Stop, drop, roll
-
call 9-1-1, fire department
-
Have a meeting zone
-
Electronic fire-no water, not electronic-water
-
Smoke alarm, fire detector
-
If there is smoke get to the ground, and crawl
-
Don't hide from firemen

Fire Safety
We watched this fire safety video from the Brampton Fire Department. We paused throughout the video to answer some key pieces such as;

-How often should you replace your fire alarm?
-How often should you replace your carbon monoxide detector?
-Why do we stop, drop, and roll?
-Why do we not open a door if the handle is hot?
-Why is crawling better than walking through smoke and fire?

Kahoot
We played a round of kahoot after watching the video today. We answered questions on fire safety and you can play the kahoot challenge using the link below.

Fire Safety Plan
We started talking about fire safety plans and what we should think about when designing one. Moving forward we will be working on designing our own, including important elements such as a meeting place, labeling exits, and talking about sharing the plan and ideas with the whole family.

I hope you enjoy these activities and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
